Huge portions and awesome flavors. Lots of breakfast and lunch options. Only open in morning and afternoon. Fair prices. Small location, but still plenty of seating. Parking is easy.

We were recommend this place by a friend. But the first time we went the line was out the door. Well now I understand why. The food is extremely good the staff is wonderful and the prices are reasonable.

Good food and prices but the wait is long sometimes. Waitress kinda forgot about our drinks. Overall, not a bad breakfast place.

The food tastes amazing. It's huge home cooking! We got a pancake bigger than my face. With fresh blueberries. This place has so much odd, unique style. Which makes a warm, cozy atmosphere prefect match for eating their food.

Hole in the wall local joint that must be tried. Great portion sizes. Homemade bread, homemade sausage and bacon. Creatively designed and simple menu. Staff was pleasant and kind. Things were on the expensive side but I took home leftovers so it ended up being a worthwhile price. Will certainly go back again when looking for breakfast on the west side.

If I could give more stars I would! If you are looking for a great breakfast place look no further. Portions are ginormous and they have some different menu options. Waitress was absolutely amazing. Very small dining area so make sure to get there early or you will be waiting a while - but it's so worth it.

First time going there. I had the regular French toast. It's made with their inhouse made bread. It was so good. Had a side of eggs. They were cooked perfectly. I was disappointed they didn't have sausage gravy, which is my breakfast favorite. I was told it's offered occasionally as a special. Everything there is done big. You shouldn't leave hungry for sure. My friend has eggs, meat, potatoes and bread, "van plate." Thickest piece of ham I've ever seen. The sausage is made inhouse and looked amazing. My friend said it was. I will definitely go again. I highly recommend. Oh, and service was friendly and fast.

My family and I love this restaurant! They can't be beat for a big breakfast. Their French toast is to die for. They make it with homemade bread! We went there tonight for their Fish Fry and it was incredible. A lot of places in Rochester are skimpy with their fish fry plates, but not Shmeg's! Two good sized pieces of bread with butter, a hearty serving of cole slaw, and a heaping helping of curly fries. Not to mention the Genny Cream battered fish. Absolutely delish! Even though they were extremely busy, our food was out quick and was very hot and fresh. A wonderful experience at a fantastic establishment.

Good food for a good price... huge portion sizes... very friendly and the set up is almost like stepping back in time to a diner from the '60's... or your great grandmother's kitchen... loved it!!!

Wonderful!!! Everything about the experience! The place is tucked in the corner of a plaza. From the outside you'll never know the experience you'll have when you walk through the door. The way it's furnished and decorated to the aroma from the kitchen and the friendliness of the crew that they've assembled, it all comes together to make you glad you walked in. Then there's the food!!! Delicious!!! Truly unique offerings combined with traditional home cooked and fresh baked quality. Come hungry, the plates arrive loaded.

This place has absolutely phenomenal food. Some of it are a little different but delicious. They have the regular food you want as well. The best French today I have ever had. If you leave here hungry well it's impossible.

We were shown only the front part of the place to eat. We had 4 adults and 2 kids so it was pretty cramp. We ordered at 7am and received our food around 750am. Was told everything was made from scratch. Tasted pretty good

Best price with a large serving. Bring your appetite because the serving sizes are huge. They are only open for brunch and there is usually a wait. All food is delicious and they prepare it fresh.

Cozy and fun place to grab brunch. We waited for close to an hour although service was relatively fast once we were actually seated. Portions were huge- my partner and I both struggled to finish our meals. Everything was tasty.

A place for the working class a little run down and dirty. Food is good,tasty, and cheap. Overall the place wasn't clean they had napkins shoved into space in the wall but if you get past the cleanliness it's a good place for breakfast.

Great atmosphere, busy on a Thursday morning. Friendly waitstaff. Fun menu. Delicious God. Even coffee was way above average.

Breakfast waffle sandwich. Or as I call it a sandwich delish with home fries and coffee! Cheaper on the prices. Delish food. People here can tell they love working here. Very welcoming! Very clean inside and out! I would definitely recommend this place to any one. You will leave here plenty full and probably have leftovers to go home with you. Nice portions.

Be prepared for a long wait--at least on the weekends--but it's worth the wait. Portions are big, menu options are good, flavor is natural and pleasing, servers are pleasant and the atmosphere feels like home in the country. Value exceeds price. You won't leave hungry; in fact, you'll likely have leftovers for another meal. Parking is free and sufficient. Only caveat: it is a little noisy up front. There is a second seating area on the other side of the kitchen.

Great atmosphere, food was delicious. My friend brought his own raspberries and they cooked them in his pancake for him, that was awesome.

This place was highly recommended to me and it did not disappoint. It is a small space and with it's popularity there is usually a wait. However I waited less time than I thought I would for a Saturday at noon. The serving sizes here are large and definitely fill you up. The food was quite good and the specials that were recommended tasted as good as they sounded.

Big portions and everything is home made. Sandwiches are huge and delicious. The service is as good as the food, they make you feel at home.

Amazing! A hidden hole in the wall that is just straight up really cool inside. I loved the character and feel and the food was outstanding. Everything I tried was delicious and we tried a variety of food. Make sure you come hungry because the portions are ginormous! Definitely get something with a slice of their bread, it's huge and is simply great.

I was blown away by the way this waffle was dressed up. It was so delicious! Just the right amount of spices. I definitely will be comin back for more!

It's a small, cozy little joint with amazing food! Being that it's small, if it's a weekend, you gotta get there early. Otherwise you may have to wait a bit for a table. But the food is definitely worth the wait. & the staff is always super friendly.

Had a great meal. Everything is delicious and huge. Breads are all baked on site and the wait staff is fun and accommodating. Just a fun diner experience with great food like the Half Curly Bomber sandwich pictured here. This is an epic concoction of ground beef, shaved steak, provolone, onion, hot sauce, curly fries all on a deliciously crusty fresh baked loaf of bread that tasted like beer!

This place is so quaint and unique! The food is so worth any wait you might have and the atmosphere is so family friendly. I really loved my visit here!

This was our first time at Shmeg's after meaning to stop for a number of years. So glad we did. Don't let the few tables up front scare you that they may not be able to serve you...there are another 7 in the back. The decor is very basic and eclectic with mismatched tables and chairs. The staff was very friendly and our server Rachel was awesome. She clarified what some menu items were. I had the shaved steak breakfast burrito and my dining companion had the Mick toast (French toast encrusted with frosted flakes. Everything was so delicious. This may have been our first visit but it definitely won't be our last.

Our visit lived up to all the stellar reviews. Food was delivered quickly and servings were very generous. But we managed to eat everything on our plates. BUT no room for dessert! Only thing that would have made it better is if our daughter had been with us. Next time she will be because we will definitely be back!!

Man oh Man. My coworker told me about this place and he wasn't lying. It is FANTASTIC! My boy and I went and we loved it. Turkey club sandwich is what I had, recommended by my waitress. The boy and I ate it and I know that I was full the rest of the day. Have been to many different restaurants in this area and this place is head and shoulders above many of them. Keep up the good work folks.

Great food. Can't get enough of it. There can be a long wait for breakfast on the weekends but definitely worth it! Yes it's worth the wait for breakfast! Haven't had a bad meal since I started going there. They have an amazing Fish Fry on Friday nights too. Everyone I've recommended it to loves the place too.

It's a little bit out of the way on my work-home commute (ahhh post-work breakfast food: the small benefit of working overnights), but it's absolutely worth the diversion. The homemade bread, whether on the melt or as toast, is a personal favorite but everything's incredible.

Only the best breakfast place I've ever been to!!!! Expect to wait awhile they are not known for speed but I'm sure that has something to do with their incredible concoctions!!!! Where else can you get a breakfast sandwich made with Belgium Waffles as the bread?!?!?! YUM YUM YUM!!!!! I highly highly recommend this place, it's well worth the wait!!!!

If I could give Shmeg's 10 stars, I would. The bread is out of this world and the food is phenomenal. Seriously, GO HERE. There is usually a wait for seating and once they closed while we were there because they ran out of food! THAT IS HOW GOOD IT IS!
